Fearless Baby: Taylor Swift's Baby Taylor Guitar

There are no "teardrops" on this guitar, because Taylor Swift has created a special gift of love for her legion of fans. Swift has joined forces with one of the world's finest guitar manufacturers to create The Taylor Swift Baby Taylor Guitar. And it is a stunner.

Inspired by memories of writing songs on her Baby Taylor, country pop sensation Taylor Swift collaborated with Taylor Guitars to design a signature Baby Taylor model. The Taylor Swift Baby Taylor (TSBT) features standard Baby Taylor specs, embellished by Swift's custom, screen-printed rosette design.

At three-quarters the size of Taylor Guitar's standard dreadnought, and with a slim 1 11/16-inch neck and a comfortable, compact shape, the guitar is just right for both the littlest player’s hands and anyone who likes to pick up and play on the go. Like the original Baby Taylor, the TSBT is crafted from sapele laminate back and sides and a solid Sitka spruce top.

The custom design is all Swift's, featuring her well-known expression "Love, Love, Love" among delicate vines that encircle the soundhole. To commemorate the songwriting spirit of her album, the guitar features the word "Fearless" along with Swift's signature inscribed above the bridge.

"I wanted to share my passion for playing guitar with my fans," Taylor Swift said.

"For a beginner, finding the right guitar can be intimidating, but this guitar, it's the perfect size. Even if you've been playing for years, it's a great size to travel with. I used to sit in the back seat of the rental car while I was on my radio tour at 16, writing songs on my Baby Taylor. I love the sound, and I love those memories."

The 19-year-old singer-songwriter, who has shared a close relationship with Taylor Guitars since she was just a precocious, aspiring preteen with very big dreams, has blossomed into one of music's most successful acts. Her sophomore album Fearless (whose release Swift celebrated at the Taylor Guitars factory last November) debuted on the Billboard Hot 200 at the top spot and has since gone on to sell over 4 million copies.

Recently, she surpassed the 10 million mark for total albums sold and over 20 million paid downloads--more than any artist in country music history. Her headline tour this year included a recent sold-out show at New York's Madison Square Garden, where each song was accompanied by legions of singing and screaming fans, who at one point gave Swift a four-minute standing ovation.

The Baby Taylor is the ultimate travel companion, delivering volume and tone that surprise for its diminutive dimensions. At three-quarters the size of a full-sized guitar, the Baby Taylor lives for the road. It also loves little hands, which makes it an irresistible choice for kids taking lessons.

Single Review: Susan Hickman "Whipping Post"

If "Black Velvet" singer Alannah Myles decided to record a Texas country album, she might sound a lot like newcomer Susan Hickman. That's a big compliment, and Hickman, who just released her blues-infused track "Whipping Post" to Texas country radio, is perfectly poised for a big country music career.

Hickman's self-titled debut dropped in February to regional fans. The MP3 is now available nationwide, and the CD will be released to a national audience in the coming months.

"Whipping Post"is a powerful, sexy track that builds to a rousing crescendo. Susan Hickman offers a winning cover of the classic Allman Brothers tune and shows raw emotion in an authentic vocal performance that boldly announces her entry to Texas country music.

Red Dirt fans should get used to "Whipping Post," because Susan Hickman's sultry cover will likely be giving the beat down to its competition in its attempt to achieve country chart domination. CountryChart.com
